War against Corona…We will win!

2020 surprise.

A year has started like any other
from 1st January 2020.
Nothing different and apparently strange
that highlighted the foreshadowing of what was about to be unleashed and silent
when the first month was already beyond the second decade
From the far east, from China, which is so much to Italy close to the many inhabitants here residing.

As the oil stain spreads, so it spreads and soon the virus spreads and comes to bring panic and fear even to our beloved homeland.
Rampant in a few days it strikes from north to central and south Italy.
Invitations, orders and legislation emanate new ways of living the newspaper marked by news to face this pandemic emergency that leads the population out of the norm to the unanimous cry of obedience and extreme hygiene,
hope and courage are the potential to return stronger than before.
A few words and imprisonment in one’s own homes this is the message and obligation for us human beings distinct from civil conscience.

The force of life.

Since I learned of your arrival in March 2020, it has been an irrepressible joy for me.
Every day I lived it with the certainty of your strength to come into the world defying some normal disturbance for a mother during the period of sweet waiting.
And the months passed so quickly that the time to get to the last few weeks seemed short …
But an unexpected stop of an event bigger than men happens, uncontrollable.
As if it had been magic, everything has slowed down and the days are no longer passing as quickly as it was before.
And I, albeit locked in the house
and not being able to welcome you in your arms since the first shrieks,
calm down
and hold you in my heart.
I will welcome you in the distance, cradling you and caressing the rosy cheeks where your smile will reassure me if you forgive this world for not being able to welcome you with human warmth.
You, my little treasure and of humanity.
Elisa, your grandmother!

(My grandchild was born and I have not had the opportunity to welcome him because of the corona virus that prevents him from approaching)
