Christmas Eve
Long ago, in a far off land
On a cool dark night
A sudden music of choir grand
A surprising wondrous sight!
The angels delivered a message –
A message to humankind
A message in heavenly language
From the heavenly Father kind:
‘Let there be Peace on earth
Let humanity sing and rejoice
We’ve come to announce the birth
Of a special boy – the Father’s choice
A boy with celestial virtue endowed
With wisdom and Love surreal
None like him can ever be found
He was sent from above to heal –
To heal the earth from pain
Self-inflicted by ego and pride
To lift humanity to a higher plain
To grant them a horizon wide;
With a message he is sent –
A message for every human heart:
From anger, greed and pride repent
Peace and Love I will impart.’
Let this immortal message
Take birth in your heart today
As the earth is paying homage
To Jesus Christ on Christmas Day.
